Imagine this: "Senior Student Nurses; The Next American Acting Idols!"

Mrs Conyan, a major benefactor to the hospital where you study, was recently a recipient of a right total hip replacement. She expressed to a friend of the CEO, how unsettled she was with the lack of knowledge on what was ahead of her after discharge. The conversation traveled through the hospital 'grape vine'. Feeling very confident that this was just a rumor, the nurse educator for the Joint Replacement Unit, decided to review the patient education material. Unexpectantly, she found the discharge instructions to be very outdated.

To better prepare future patients,(and not wanting to loose any future endowments), a proposal was brought to Mrs Conyan. As the senior class Webquest project, based on previous orthopedic lectures and clinical experience, you and your classmates will create a (THR) Total Hip Replacement discharge patient education video or DVD accompanied with a booklet. Mrs Conyan will provide all financing. Copies of the video/DVD and booklets will be placed in the patient education lounge that will be renamed in her honor.

Delighted with the idea, Mrs Conyan added this incentive. Upon completion of the Webquest she will award $1000 to the winning student videographers to use towards their education.
