Case Scenario # 3

Samantha Smokey

Samantha is a 32 year old female who is 5'10inches tall and weighs 150lbs.  She came through the emergency room with c/o stabbing chest pain, dizziness and stated that she had been experiencing epigastric pain.  Her V/S were; HR- 120, RR- 25, T- 97F, BP- 210/100.  Upon obtaining Samantha's health history: she has been working 7 days a week on Wall street and had been under a tremendous amount of stress, exercise is out of the question.  Samantha does not eat  well balanced meals regularly, she eats whenever she can.  Most of her food intake is from Wendy's, White Castle, Taco Bell, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Chick Filet. When an EKG and Cardiac enzymes where taken it was revealed that she had an acute Myocardial Infarction.  She was stabilized and transferred to the telemetry floor for monitoring for one week.

Discharge Instruction Package

1). Using the same patient case scenario, the group will create an individualized discharge instructions package for your MI patient, who will soon be discharged from the hospital. 

Each team member will contribute to this activity by providing individualized discharge/teaching information listed under your role, and according to your patient (case scenario).
