Describe to the learners how their performance will be evaluated. Specify whether there will be a common grade for group work vs. individual grades.

Group Research Work

 

Team lacks relevant background information, information has little to no organization.
Team members have done an adequate amount of research, but it is poorly organized.
Data shows organization and is relevant to the topic.
Data is presented in organized tables and is pertinent to each member's role as well as the group  as a whole.

 

Solution to the Problem

 

 

Response to problem is not practical.  Team has not taken the time to analyze to pros and cons of their solution.
Solution is flawed, but does show signs of effort.
Solution is practical and could be applied to a real-world situation.  However, there are a few flaws that are discovered.
Solution may be applied to a real-world situation.  Pros and cons have been analyzed, with a minimal amount of flaws.

 

Oral Presentation

 

 

Group is disjointed.  Team looks confused, and had trouble discussing their project.
Oral discussion is dominated by one group member, while others watched.
Two members interacted with the audience, while the third member had less of a role.
All group members equally participated in the discussion and engaged the audience.

 

Visual Presentation

 

Presentation uses PowerPoint, but lacks in organization.
PowerPoint presentation shows some organization, but team has difficulty relating it to the task.
Presentation is organized, and relates well to the required task.
Students have mastered the usage of slides to explain their response to the task at hand.

 

Teamwork - Individual Strand
Uncooperative as a group member, missing resources, little to no data to contribute, minor involvement in final project.
Minimal contributions, participated in group work.
Contributed some resources, pooled some data, and worked cooperatively in the group.
Member contributed resources, pooled data, and assisted in the groups ability to function  cooperatively.
