Project Objective
As experts in your fields, your team is to research and develop four new alternatives which will be incorporated into the existing McDonald's menu. Your items are to be creative and attractive, and must be a convincing improvement from their conterparts with regard to nutrition & calories.
Each new menu item is to reflect :
A 10% reduction in calories.
A reduction of combined fats by 12%.
An increase of at least five vitamins and nutrients.
A flavor profile that is fit for human consumption.
Project Roles
Each of you will have a separate responsibility.
Researcher : Create new healthier choices.
Calorie Counter : Compares and tracks calories.
Journalist : Develops the portfolio.
Reporter : Completes reports and monitors progress.
Project Goal
Your immediate goal is to create an alternative menu selection for each of the current McDonald's food choices.
Learning Goal
Ultimately this project will help you apply the nutritional lessons studied this semester by gathering the information needed to complete this project. You may use additional resources specific to the assigned tasks in addition to those provided.
Final Project Goal
The project summary is to be a power point presentation inclusive of all work performed. It is to be a minimum of ten slides and not longer than twenty.
