The Lesson Plan: For Independent Study Students in Advanced Food & Nutrition.

Goal: The students are to gain a "real world" career experience by collaborating as a unit. Each student will have specific role and also be expected to meet with each other regularly in order to examine, compare and improve the results.

Objective: The learner will be able to create four new products by by applying their previous knowledge of nutrition, food preparation and fast food experiences.

Procedures:

1. Groups can be designed by the teacher to place individuals into roles that fit Gregorc's Different Learning Styles. This is only an option for the teacher. Each role has been defined to coordinate with a specific learning style.

Gregorc and Gardner in relation to : (Researcher) (Calorie Counter) (Jounalist) (Reporter)

Bloom's in relation to : (Researcher) (Calorie Counter) (Journalist) (Reporter)

2. Students review their individual roles and become familiar with the other three positions and the logs that are to be completed.

3. The Researcher will spearhead the activities in the test kitchen and create the four new menu items. He will receive assistance and input from all other team members daily. The Test Kitchen Journal (Excel) is to be completed daily.
