Teacher Tips:

  • Review this Webquest before you use it in the classroom.

  • Instruct yourself and your students in the basic concepts of heredity and genetics. Try the University of Utah website as a starting point.

  • Be prepared to discuss and encourage your students to explore the
realities of a lifestyle with genetic disorders.

  • Instruct students to follow the Webquest step by step.

  • Decide if students will just view or print any word/PDF documents.
You may want to make copies ahead of time.

  • Be prepared to answer questions about the genetic disorders that are researched.  A great resource for information is the
    Genetic Science Learning Center.

  • Periodically check the student's progress throughout the Webquest.
