Variables and Control Checkpoint Hypothesis, Materials, Procedure Checkpoint

Design and conduct the Experiment.  Set up and run an experiment in attempt to answer the problem. The experiment should contain:

Independent Variable: Variable that starts the experiment and causes the change (goes on X Axis in a graph).  Make sure to ONLY change 1 VARIABLE otherwise you will not be sure which variable caused the change.

Dependent Variable: Variable that is observed/ and or measured at the end of the experiment (goes on Y axis in a graph).

Control: Conditions which do not change during the experimentation.  Used for comparison.

A. Design the Experiment: How can I test what I think will happen? What materials will I need to conduct the experiment ?  How long will the experiment take?

B. Write down the procedure (the steps) you plan to use: What do I need to do to test my hypothesis?

Make sure to print out and complete the Variables and Control Checkpoint & Hypothesis, Materials, Procedure Checkpoint before you begin you experiment.  These two checkpoints will be graded as quizzes. Once you determine your materials and design your experiment, run your experiment.  Plan your schedule to allow for experiments that take longer.  Make sure to repeat trials at least three times and keep track of any observations,  results, or possible problems that arise.

While you run your experiment make sure to keep track of data and observations in charts and then later create some graphs to show your ANALYSIS:
