Task-

Your task is to use different maps to  help you review some concepts learned in 7th Grade Earth Science.

You will start out with reviewing time zones.  Use the United States Map to find the time in the four continental US time Zones (Eastern, Central, Mountain, and Pacific).  Then use the World map to find the times in locations around the world with the 24 world time zones.

Then move on to the "Disaster" page.  The Earth is ever changing.  Use the Maps that show locations of Volcanoes and Earthquakes.  Use the links to find the types of plate tectonic boundaries.  Finally, find a connection between the Earth's plates and  the areas of disturbances.

Then move on to the Weather page.  Here you will see the maps that Meteorologists show on television.  Research the symbols for warm and cold fronts as long as High and Low Pressure.  Find a current weather map and predict the weather for the states.

Finally, use a Google- Earth map to find landforms that we studied this year (Grand Canyon, Colorado River, Mount St. Helens).  Find the latitude and longitude of these areas.  For an Extension Activity (Extra Credit) use Google Earth to measure the distance between the Grand Canyon and Bloomingdale.  Then zoom in on Bloomingdale.  Discover what happens to the area and resolution as you "Zoom in".
