You will choose a cooperative group of 3-4 members.  Each member will be responsible for a specific task (recorder, time keeper, reporter).   Click on your title for job description. Following the links provided will assist you in completion of this exercise.  The PowerPoint Presentation will need to include the following:

1. An explanation of the seven Tangram pieces. Your group will use 1-2 pages of the slide show to explain the relationship among the shapes (small, medium, and large triangle; square; and parallelogram).  The tangram activities below may assist you as you explore fractions:

2. You will choose at least 3 creations which utilize all seven tangram shapes.  Be sure to label and answer class questions about the animal, person, structure, etc.  The following sites may be used to give you ideas:

3. Please click to view "The Magic Window".  Each group member will need to read the story.  As a group you will then need to brainstorm on different ideas.  You will choose 1 of your creations (from task 2) to include as "Chapter 2" to the Legend of the Tangram.  The typed response should be at least two paragraphs.  The group may choose to read to class or act out the original tale and add their conclusion.

4.  Assess your group and other PowerPoint presentations using the rubric found on the Evaluation Page.
