Have  you ever thought about the meaning of friendship?  What is a friend?  How do you get one and what do you do to keep one?

"The only way to have a friend is to be one...A friend is a person with whom I may be sincere.  Before him I may think aloud." Ralph Waldo Emerson

Friendship is a gift- pure and simple.  Since it is a gift it can not be imposed upon someone.  It needs to be offered by one person and accepted by another.  The actual word friendship has an interesting meaning.  The suffix -ship means process, so friendship is the process of becoming someone's friend.  The process is not an easy one.  You must ask yourself why you want this friend.  Is it simply because you just want one, or because you have something to give one?  Before you consider someone a "friend", ask yourself, what do you really want from this person?

Through this Web Quest you will encounter many different forms of friendship.  You will have to explore the qualities of friendship, and what you think a friend is, what it takes to be a friend, and how to keep one.  Once you have read Charlotte's Web and The Hundred Dresses you are ready to begin the quest!
