"DESIRE
TO
SUCCEED
WITH EXCELLENCE"

Welcome Sign With Apple

Dear Students:

Welcome to an exciting new school year at Dumont High School.  I look forward to being your math teacher during the next ten months and guiding you towards a brighter future.  "Desire to Succeed with Excellence" is the philosophy that I bring into our classroom.  This philosophy explains the high expectations that I have set for both myself, and you, my students.

I expect all of you to be prepared and respectful at all times.  I also expect you to be responsible and diligent.  Everyone starts the year off with an "A" and it is up to you to maintain this grade.  I am here to help you and guide you along the way, but you need to take on the responsibility of doing your homework and studying.  As your teacher, you can expect me to be well prepared, helpful and caring, fair and consistent, respectful, and to show a great interest in mathematics!

Our classroom is a warm, friendly learning environment.  Please read the classroom rules page to see the rules and procedures that will be implemented inside our classroom.   Everyone will show respect at all times.  As a result of this mutual respect, active class participation will be able to take place.  This is important because class participation is a BIG part of your grade!  Never feel frightened to ask questions because the only unintelligent questions are the ones that go unasked!  Remember, even Albert Einstein asked questions!

There should be no reason for you not to have a successful year in this class.  As your teacher, my door will always be open for extra help and to discuss any issues or concerns about your grades.  Once again, I look forward to having you as my students and I thank  you in advance for you full cooperation!

                            Sincerely,

Miss Dunne
