Have you ever sat in a math class and wondered who came up with the ideas or rules that your teacher was teaching you? What made them come up with these ideas? Why are they so important that every student around the world has to learn them in order to graduate school?

This webpage is designed to allow students to find the answers to these questions. Students will use this webpage to locate famous mathematicians from all around the world on a map and familiarize themselves with the mathematicians' lifestyles and important discoveries. After they locate the mathematicians, they will be able to use the supporting pages that are linked on the side of the page to complete a short term (2-3 week) math project.

This webpage includes a lesson plan and grading rubric that teachers can use too!
