Sense and Meaning:
The students will be able to relate this WebQuest to their sense and meaning, since it relates to a real life experience. The experiences of moving to another city and trying to help out the teacher, are two real world experiences that students deal with. This allows the student to have a better understanding of what they are learning. At the third and fourth grade level, having an opinion and a say in an important decision, is motivating and sparks interest in the student, which helps create and retain meaning.
Emotion:
The students will be excited throughout the WebQuest. They will be doing a variety of activities that will stimulate different emotions. Some of the children may have even experienced a situation where they had to move, and this may stir up some feelings based on that situation. They will also feel a sense of responsibility throughout the entire WebQuest, since they know that their teacher is counting on them to help her make her decision. The concept also promotes emotion because the students will be able to relate to feeling a sense of pride in knowing that they made the best decision in choosing the place where their teacher will live.
