1. You will be assigned to a group of four students.

2. Each person in your group must select a different role from the following selection.

 A. Geography Genius

 B. Waterways Wizard

 C. Occupations/Industry Expert

 D. Historian/Recreation Specialist

3. Click on the name of your role to access your responsibilities and print out your worksheet.

4. Use the related online links and classroom resources to read and take notes on your worksheet.

5. To access the online links for your region click here.

6. Discuss your findings with your group members.

7. Create a Kidspiration web to organize the four aspects of your region.  (Your web will be distributed to your classmates during your class presentation!)

8. Create a large physical map to visually represent your findings.

        Include:

  • Landforms
  • Bodies of water/ waterways
  • Historical sites
  • Tourist attractions

9. Add a list of recreational activities, occupations and industries found in your region to your map.

10. Create a brochure advertising your region. Include important information and eye-catching images to highlight your region.

11. Each group will create a commercial for their region using i-movie.  Your team will present the commercial to the class, PTA, Book Buddies, or other audience. Be Creative!      

12. Upon completion of the class presentations, we will join the region maps together to show how diverse the areas of our small state are!
