Before your group begins creating their presentation discuss some of the images of the Italian immigrants you have just seen.  Find images from your research to place in your presentation.  Describe how they make you feel and what the made you think about during your presentation.

After your presentations are completed discuss some of the commonalities experienced by the different immigrant groups. How has the immigration experience changed from to days of Ellis Island to now?  Why do you think people continue to come knowing that life will be difficult?  How would America be different if the borders were closed to these groups?

How would you characterize American Culture?  Do you feel that American culture will always be evolving, or do we have a definitive culture?
