You and your two classmates will be responsible for organizing your company.
You will each have different responsibilities, so consider your strengths when you choose your role. Be sure to work as a team and remember...you are stuck in 1900!

Do you think like a lawyer, an accountant, or an entrepreneur?

As the lawyer you will be responsible for the following:
1. Explaining the impact of government regulations and court decisions on your company.
2. Identifying how your business may be affected by corruption in local, state, and national
politics. Provide a plan of action to deal with corrupt politicians or political bosses.

As the accountant you will be responsible for the following:
1. Charting the average labor rates for your industry. Include the pay rates for men,
women, children, and immigrants. Compare these rates and decide who you will hire as
employees and where you will establish your company.
2. Devising a plan for making a monthly profit. State the financial goals of your company, and
explain how you will go about achieving them.
3. Keeping and accurate monthly balance sheet. Identify all costs, overhead, and expenses
that you need to pay, as well as, all forms of income that you may earn.
You need capital to begin your business venture, so remember to take out a loan from the bank or find investors to invest in your company.

As the entrepreneur you will be responsible for the following:
1. Preparing a proposal that you will use in order to solicit business for your company. Your
proposal should include your business plan and company goals.
2. Explaining how management and business strategies will contribute to your success.
3. Identifying natural resources or services that you will need to acquire, and explain how each
is necessary for the success of your company.
4. Evaluating how technological advances will allow you to maximize your profits.

Poster or PowerPoint Presentation Guidelines
After you have chosen your role and completed the assigned responsibilities, meet with your partners to share share the information you have found.
In order to present your company at the Fair, you must create a poster or PowerPoint presentation. It must include any information that was used to develop your company.
