What is area? Area is the amount of space a 2 dimensional figure covers. It is measured in square units. Formulas:
Example 1:
Find the area of the
rectangle. A = lw
Example 2: Find the area of a triangle with a base of 9 inches and a height of 12 inches. A = 1/2(b)(h) Example 3: Find the area of a circle with a radius of 8 inches. A = πr2 Example 4: Find the area of the following trapezoid. h = 6 cm A = 1/2(h)(b1
