Goals & Objectives

At the completion of this webquest, each student will have a deeper understanding of what trans fats are, how they affect the body, and why there is such controversy surrounding their use. Also, the student will learn to appreciate that public issues are seldom black and white, and can often can be seen through numerous points of view.

Since the topic of banning trans fats is timely, it is sure to motivate the students' interest and emotion. Also, the fact that it's closely related to their own health should give the information they learn both sense and meaning. As older students, most of them are beginning to be concerned with their  overall health as well as current events.
