1.  First you'll be assigned to a team of four students.

2.  Each of you will choose one of the following animals to research: a frog, a lizard, a cat, or a bird.  Click on the image of your animal to begin your research.  Complete the worksheet for your animal while you work.

3.  When your entire group is finished researching their animals, regroup and teach the others about your animal.  When the discussion is complete, you should each have a completed set of research notes for all of the animals, which will be submitted to NASA.

4.  As a group, decide the parts of each animal you feel would create the most appropriate animal for survival on planet Urflak.  You must choose at least one feature from each animal for your design, with each of the six indicators on your research guide included in your final product.

5.  Once you have chosen your six traits for your animal, you must:

    a.  Create a drawing illustrating each of the six traits that you have chosen, labeling each of the parts used.

    b.  Prepare an oral presentation in which each member of your group identifies the traits chosen from the animal for which they were an expert.  You must clearly defend the choices that you made in creating your animal.

    c.  You should write any information you are using for your presentation and defense on note cards.  These cards will be read and considered by NASA in the evaluation of your animal.
