How to FTP up to the Ramapo Site First you must Link your Project to the Portfolio Page 1. Go the Microsoft Frontpage from the Start button: File, open (not from the Web) 2. Open the folder with your name: See the index in your name folder, click and open Now you will be on the Portfolio Page: 1. Highlight the project name, and Right click, then hyperlink, click on the existing file or web page Next will be the "Look into" area where you want to find your project, click on the index htm and open Make sure the address reads: folder name/project/index htm (example:Networking) Now click and
SAVE Make sure your project is highlighted and underlined Follow the steps to FTP You must now go to your removable disc E (or whatever your removable disc name is). 1. Click Windows E which brings you to My Computer, from there go to your removable disc E and double click. 2. Make the E drive into a smaller screen, and then click on your name and the folder that you need and STOP. 3. Minimize the screen 4. Now open the rst2.edu/masters screen and open the Portfolios page and make this into a smaller screen. 5. In the address bar, change the http address to read ftp, and hit enter 6. A page will appear that says FTP
directory. You want to click on the white page icon, and the click
Open FTP site in Windows Explorer 7. Complete the Log In Screen information 8. Bring up the E Screen that you minimized from before and the FTP Screen and place the two screens side by side. 9. Bring over the index from E (your hyperlink is on this) and drop it into the white space on the FTP screen 10. Now bring over you entire folder that you are working on (ex networking) and drop it into the white space on the FTP side Now hit REFRESH and look on your Portfolios page to see if everything is there!
