GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

Target Audience: 23 Fourth Graders; 9-10 years old

The goal of the proposed project is to use technology to improve student understanding of the geography of the United States.

The goal will be achieved by designing a WebQuest with the following students learning objectives.

Objectives:
The students will be able to:
    *Work cooperatively
    *Conduct research by utilizing the Internet to locate information on specific topic
    *Gather, analyze, and apply information and ideas
    *Organize data and information by taking notes
    *Locate regions and states within a region on a map
    *Identify regions population, climate, landforms, etc.
    *Gain an understanding of the regions in the United States
    *Plan for final project by applying the gathered information, meeting and discussing
      information with classmates                 
    *Create a PowerPoint presentation showcasing specific US region
    *Design a map of specific US region
    *Deliver informative presentation on specific US region
    *Acquire a sense of pride for their hard work
