Design Stage: Pedagogy Elements

• Target Lesson: Teach users on how to syndicate podcasting files using Dreamweaver (extension of the Module 1 tutorial) and how to create a flash movie in Flash and post it to Web page using Dreamweaver.
• Target Audience: High-school and College student.
• Learning Goal: Teach the steps on how to syndicate podcast files and how to create and post Flash movies on the Web pages. The instruction will be sufficient enough to accommodate all users of Flash and Dreamweaver.
• Teaching Techniques: The Web site will include text instructions, images and movies.
• Assessment Technique: A quiz will assess the knowledge the users gained from completing the steps.   

Design Stage: Mechanics and Implementation

General Description of the site:
The site will contain information on how to syndicate podcast audio files. In additions, the site will include the tutorial on how to create a flash movie in Flash, export it and link from the Web pages using Dreamweaver. The instructions will be sufficient enough, so that the beginner users of Flash and Dreamweaver will be able to complete the task. Pages will include text instructions and images displaying the steps involved in the task. As a final piece the site might include a Flash movie of the entire process. In addition, the site will contain a quiz, which will test the knowledge users obtained from the instruction steps. Module 2 will build on the tutorials in Module 1, so the layout of the site will mimic the layout of Module 1. The navigation will employ CSS dropdown menus, to accommodate additional pages planed for Module 2. It will be devided in to four major sections:  

1. Home Page - This page will contain the introduction to podcasts, RSS, podcast syndication, and information on the Flash audio and movie media controllers. The information on the page will be supported by images and Flash screenshots. N addition, the page will have information about the audio file formats that can be used as podcasts. It will also give general guidelines about the use of audio files on the web.
2. Module 1 Section - This section will contain all the pages from Module 1 project. The navigation of the section will implement CSS dropdown menus which will display the pages from Module 1.
3. Module 2 Section – this section will build and expand on the Module 1 tutorial. It will contain instructions on how to syndicate podcast files using Dreamweaver, and also how to create and use Flash movies. All instructions will be supported by screenshots of the Flash and Dreamweaver work areas. In addition, a Flash movie will display the entire process in an easy to use visual tutorial.
4. Evaluation Section – will contain the quiz that was part of the Module 1 as well as the quiz that will test the user knowledge attained from Module 2 section.
5. Credits Page - Will credit the resources used on the Web site.
