Module 1: Dreamweaver Steps

Once the Flash media player was created, we are ready to add it to the HTML page. The steps bellow will illustrate steps involved in the process.  The instructions are suppo05/06/2008 12:37 PM end of the tutorial will illustrate all the steps involved in the process.

Adding Flash Player to the Page

Step 1

  1. Open the podcasts HTML page [1].
  2. Place the cursor on the page where the Flash player will reside [2].
  3. Under main menu, select Insert -> Media -> Flash or use key combination “Ctrl+Alt+F” [3,4].

Step 2

  1. In the new window, navigate to the folder we saved the Flash player [1]
  2. Select the correct .swf file [2]
  3. Select “OK” button [3]

Step 3

  1. Add  a title for our Flash player [1].
    2. 05/06/2008 12:37 PM player. For our tutorial leave these options blank.
  2. Select “OK” [2].

Step 4

  1. Save the page, under main menu select File -> Save [1].
  2. The Flash player is added to the page.
  3. Preview the page in the browser and test the player [2].

Additional Comments


For those people that would like to download the podcasts to their machine and not listen to it through the Flash player, we should provide a link to the .mp3 file.

It is also nice to provide the time and the size of the .mp3. Example of this link should look like:
Download MP3 (2.5MB, 00:02:10 )
