Introduction

During the course of the class, I developed two separate learning modules which are now combined and displayed on this site. The website is used also used as a final project presentation for the class. The site is separated in two major sections, Module 1 and Module 2, both containing detailed information on how to create, syndicate and display podcast files as well as information on how to create a Flash video and display it on the page. .

Module 1 illustrates the steps involved in posting the podcasts on a Web site. In the first part of the module, we create a Flash media player which will enable users of the site to listen to recordings directly on your website. The steps are described in detail on the Flash page. The second part of the module will explain steps which will place a Flash player on the web page using Dreamweaver. All examples will be supported with detailed instructions and screen-shots of the steps performed within Flash and Dreamweaver. At the end of the tutorial, a Flash movie will display the all the steps described in the instructions.

Module 2 illustrates steps involved in syndicating the podcasts on the internet using Dreamweaver. It offers sample XML file that can be downloaded and modified for posting the podcast. As a second part of the module, we’ll use Flash to import a video file, and export the Flash movie file suitable for posting on the website. In addition, we’ll use Dreamweaver to post the video on the web page.

In order to successfully accomplish the task we’ll have to define some of the common terms used process. These terms are explained in more detail on the Module 1 and Module 2 introduction pages.
