Dear Students:
It has come to my attention that children in our state are not aware of the importance of recycling. Since New Jersey is the most densely populated state, it is essential that we take a proactive role in protecting our environment. I am putting this task in your hands, since you are the future of New Jersey!
I am challenging middle school students to develop a lesson on recycling for elementary school students. Your goal is to create the most interesting, informative and inspiring lesson. The 25 minute lesson plan will be presented to the class and a member of my environmental committee. The ultimate reward is the gift of knowledge you are passing on to the elementary students, however, the group with the most outstanding presentation will be also be rewarded with a trip to the Great Adventure! I hope you choose to accept my challenge and look forward to seeing your presentations at our next meeting.
Sincerely,

Jon Corzine

Governor of New Jersey
