Goals & Objectives
- To be able to distinguish key characteristics of each "ism" (movement in art history), how they are similar and how they differ.
- To be able to identify key artists within each "ism" and to see how some of these artists influenced and/or are influenced by the other movements or “ism" in art history.
- To be able to identify key characteristics of imagery and stylistic differences and similarities used by each of the individual artist and to understand their contribution to their particular ism or movement in art history.
- Identify specific cultural, historical and political events that helped mold the artists within each “ism” and the genre that they gave rise to.

Resources Needed
- A multimedia capable computer with internet access for each student (Microsoft Office required, Adobe Photopshop, Illustrator and like programs are beneficial but not required).
- Multimedia Projector and screen.
- 3 X 6 poster paper
- Art supplies (scissors, pens, markers, colored pencils, glue, etc).
Previous Knowledge
- Students have been exposed to and are comfortable using Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Power Point, Excel) as well as multimedia applications such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
Quiz
At the end of each groups presentation to the visited school, the teacher will administer a 30 question true or false quiz to all individual members of “Teach Art Across America” to ensure that all members were actively participating in the one hour 6 team presentation. It is important that each of the 6 team learn about the other movements in the “Teach Art Across America.”

We believe that this Web Quest is a worthy endeavor. It provides opportunities for cooperative group work, while challenging students to engage in the highest levels of thinking. Students must evaluate information and assimilate their findings into a cohesive presentation. This activity encourages students to be self directed, collaborative workers. The Poster-Art activity provides opportunities for students to exercise multiple intelligence preferences and are designed to appeal to various learning styles while the quiz allows the students to synthesize what they have learned.
