WELCOME TO OUR WEB QUEST

This man is at a memorial. A memorial can be a place like the one above or an object that you hold in your hand. It can also be something you do such as a twenty-one gun salute.

Memorials serve many purposes. They help us to honor the past. They can also bring us closer to friends and loved ones whom we miss. Perhaps the most important thing they do is help us get in touch with our feelings.

As this man visits the memorial above, he is thinking about the things that happened when he was a little boy. Imagine hearing stories about people being taken away from their families and being forced into concentration camps. Imagine what it was like for this boy when the German soldiers took him away from his mom. Was he leaving forever? Would he see them again?

The purpose of this web quest is to help you identify with the emotional, physical and mental anguish people experienced during the holocaust. Additionally, we hope to deepen your understanding and expand your knowledge of this traumatic era by linking the emotions people felt with the events as they occurred.
