You have just LOST your job, with or without warning or notice you are now on the unemployment lines.  Your ego is crushed and you are embarrassed to tell your friends, because the implication is that you did something wrong.  Look at what employment at will means, and know that this circumstance is very common to many people.  But now that it has happened to YOU.....what do YOU do to move on? It may be difficult, but the first step is to let go of the past, enjoy the free time, and look forward to new opportunities and adventures.  It is a time of search and discovery, and also an opportunity to find something you are really passionate about doing.  Life is a series of train rides.  We get on, we get off, we meet wonderful people along the way and we need to cherish all the moments we get to share the ride with others.
