The core of the
Glass-Analysis for Decoding Only program
is a method for clustering letters within words.
Each cluster is a combination of letters (ie "at" "Ick"
or "tion") producing consistent sound-symbol
relationships.
Each of the levels of Glass-Analysis kits directs
teachers to condition students to recognize and use
the consistent clusters within words. Each kit
contains thirty sets of clusters, each coded by
difficulty level. |

| Using
Primary
Phonics teachers can
help students internalize the
alphabetic principal: that letters
in written words map the sounds of
spoken words in systematic ways.
This program accommodates all
students, allowing them to work at
their own pace, and includes many
opportunities for re-teaching and
reinforcement. Upon completion of
the program students will have
achieved essential reading skills,
including phonemic awareness,
phonics, fluency and comprehension.

Right into Reading
provides a solid foundation in basic sounds and a
wide variety of readings from the earliest level.
Phonics skills are introduced in a carefully ordered
sequence of “bite-size” lessons so that students can
progress easily and successfully from one reading
level to the next. The stories and selections
contain only the sounds that have been taught. This
means that students can fully concentrate on
understanding and enjoying what they read.
Each reading passage is followed by comprehension
questions and writing practice. Illustrations are
engaging for learners at all levels. |

Each book is consistently organized
to include grade-appropriate words that follow a
particular spelling rule or pattern. Sight words
frequently used in writing are also included. In
addition, each lesson allows space for words from
students’ classroom reading or writing. F Spellwell’s
organization also includes finding rhyming words,
sorting words, adding affixes, and writing words in
puzzles, stories, and bingo games. Some lessons ask
students to identify words with similar spelling
patterns in their reading books or textbooks and
write those words in their word lists. In addition,
several lessons conclude with writing exercises that
ask students to write a paragraph that incorporates
the new spelling words they have learned. |

Students
interact with numbers on paper by seeing,
saying, hearing and touching numbers as they
arrive at the right answers without
