| Picture Books on Tape
 |
Picture books on tape allow early
readers to hear fluent reading as they follow along
in high interest, low level books. Students
are able to select both fiction and non-fiction
picture books that provide beeps at the end of every
page indicating that it is time to turn the page. |
| Chapter Books on Tape
 |
Chapter books on tape allow more
developed readers to hear fluent reading as they
read along in more difficult readers. Often
times, the student will not hear a beep signaling
hi/her to turn the page. He/she is then
responsible to sustaining attention to the text and
following along as they reader reads. |

| Sentence Master

It is a
revolutionary remedial reading program developed by
Dr. Marion Blank. The Sentence Master is designed
for students who are struggling to learn to read or
haven’t responded to a phonics-based approach.
The program focuses on non-content words, such as
“the,” “is,” “and,” etc. While limited in number,
these words make up the majority of any page of
text. All of the word activities and stories
are designed so that students never have to read or
write a word that has not been fully mastered.
Unlike other reading programs, the stories use
tightly controlled syntax which facilitates the
development of comprehension skills. |
