Introduction
This Social Studies unit, designed for second grade, is an effort to give students a better understanding of the world around them. The lessons incorporate reading, writing, and computer skills. Students will learn about the three types of communities, how citizens in a community can work together, and how communiti4es have changed over time. Students will exercise their knowledge by completing worksheets and developing a power point, a web site, a post card, and a concept map. They will be assessed through various rubrics.
