Goals and Objectives
The goal of my web quest is to have students understand what it means to face adversity and struggle to overcome its effects. Our reading curriculum talks about Gloria Estefan being a hero in the area of music. My web quest will focus on other music artists who have also struggled in life and over came adversity. Students will relate their lives to their own. They will decide if these other artists are heroes as well.
Students will use technology to do research, create a time line, create a power point presentation, and conduct an interview.  Students will enhance their communication skills by presenting their projects upon completion of the web quest.
Student Goals:
v Students will research the life of a musical artist.
v Students will learn about that artist’s geographic origin, background and culture.
v Students will listen to music written by that artist.
v Students will understand what characteristics make someone a hero.
v Students will gain knowledge about the Grammy Awards.
v Students will use the Internet and enhance computer skills.
v Students will present information to their classmates.
v Students will have an understanding about overcoming life’s struggles.
v Students will work in cooperative groups.
  Students will take part in decision making as a class
