How to Connect to the Editing Machine |
|
|
If you do not have a camcorder with a DV plug-in don't be alarmed!! You can still connect to the Casablanca machine. Step 1: Determine what type of cable you have for connection. If you do not have a DV, then you should have a conjoined audio/video cable or an S Video cable.
Audio/Video Cable S Video Cable Step 2: The audio/video cable has two distinct ends. One end has a single connector (or head) and is black; the other end has three separate heads that are red, white and yellow. If you have an S Video cable, it will be all black and also have two distinct ends. The end that you will plug into the camcorder A/V slot is a smaller round end. The other end is also round and black but larger in diameter. In either case, plug the smaller black end into the camcorder A/V plug-in. If you have an A/V Cable continue to step 3. If you have an S Video Cable skip to step 4.
Step 3: Locate the A/V outlets in the rear of the editing machine. They are easy to find because they are color-coded to match the A/V cable ends. Plug in the yellow to the Video In and the red and white to the Audio In.
Step 4: Locate the S Video outlet in the rear of the editing machine. It is easy to find, because it is located directly to the left of the color-coded A/V outlets. It also has holes that match the prongs in the cable end. Plug in the cable.
Step 5: Check that the editing machine is properly connected to the monitor. The outlets labeled Audio Out and Video Out (located directly below the Audio and Video In outlets) should already have cables plugged in that are running up to the monitor and plugged into the Audio In and Video In on the rear of the monitor. You can not continue unless this is accomplished.
Step 6: You are now properly connected to the Casablanca Editing Machine! To record and edit your video click on the link below and begin with Step 2.
