Final Proposal Objectives

Target Audience:

This Web Quest is designed for 7^th grade Language Arts students.

Goals:

Through this Web Quest, students will develop their knowledge of Mount Everest.

Students will identify the area where it is located, identify explorers (famous and otherwise) of Mount Everest, and become aware of the environmental impact these people have upon the region.

Students will also work in groups to “purchase” the equipment necessary to conduct their own expedition to summit the mountain.

Specific Learning Objectives:

Through the use of research (internet, print, and video), worksheets and class activities students will strengthen Language Arts and overall communication skills.

Using PowerPoint, students will develop a presentation to illustrate their expedition and its equipment, including budgetary concerns. Students will have a budget of $10,000 each to fund the journey.

Students will create a journal with dated entries to track their expedition. The entries will be categorized into before the trip, on the mountain, and after the trip.
