To accomplish your task, there are specific steps you need to take. 

-    You will be assigned a subject and side (for or against) of a debate.

-    You must research the topic, evaluate how your team wants to approach the debate, and apply your findings accordingly. 

-    Review the debate format to ensure that you understand how the debate is run as well as how you will be scored.

-    Each of team members will choose a different role of financial analyst, historian, or health and safety tech.

-    Complete the topic questionnaire sheet associated with your role.

 

REMINDER: Remember that you are involved in a DEBATE.  There will be another group opposing your point of view on the topic.  You must be prepared to counter their argument in a rebuttal.  Be thorough in all areas of your research. 

Financial Analyst You are to research the financial motivations of the parties involved.  You should be the expert on all of the financial issues that contribute to a reason why or why not someone may want a change to take place.  You need to be able to prove that any particular financial argument is or is not in the best interest of the sport, depending on your position.
Historian You are to research the history and historical impact of the proposed changes.  You should be the expert on all of the historical issues that contribute to a reason why or why not someone may want a change to take place.  You need to be able to prove that any particular historical argument is or is not in the best interest of the sport, depending on your position.
Health and Safety Technician You are to research the health and safety related motivations of the parties involved.  You should be the expert on all of the health and safety issues that contribute to a reason why or why not someone may want a change to take place.  You need to be able to prove that any particular health and safety  argument is or is not in the best interest of the sport, depending on your position.
