I. Knowledge
- the students will identify the major definitions of the grand nursing theorists chosen
- the students will define the major concepts and assumptions of the theoretical framework
- the students will present concept maps as described by the theorist
II. Comprehension
- the students will summarize the key points of the theory and present it to the class
- the students will describe the theory under the guise of the role assigned to them
- the students will depict the impact of each specific nursing theory to modern day nursing
III. Application
- the students will implement the knowledge obtained from their different roles and impart it to the rest of the team members
- the students will collaborate as a group and develop a case scenario applying the nursing theory to clinical practice
IV. Analysis
- the students will compare and contrast the different theories that they have learned after the presentations
- the students will be able to point out the strengths and weaknesses of the different theories presented
V. Synthesis
- the students will organize and present a PowerPoint presentation and clinical case scenario/play to illustrate to the whole class the nursing theory that has been assigned to them
VI. Evaluation
- the students will appraise their own nursing practice and identify which components of the theories presented they have been utilizing and why
- the students will select which nursing theory/theories may be applicable to their own clinical practice
