Conclusion

Congratulations!  Dr. Martin and Mrs. Dondero were very impressed by your team's knowledge, and the hard work that was evident in both your poster and your presentation.

They felt your team's plan was well reasoned, and exactly the kind of scientifically based policy they were looking for.

One week after your meeting, Dr. Martin delivered a speech unveiling his new energy policy.  He even acknowledged your team's contribution!

You never imagined something like this would happen to you, but a reporter from the Associated Press has asked for permission to write an article about you and your team!

She's requested that each of you write down your thoughts about the process of creating an energy plan.  She's particularly interested in:

  • The importance of what you learned about renewable and nonrenewable energy sources

  • What factors helped you to decide which energy sources were the best to use

  • Why your team advocated the use of different energy sources in different areas of the country.

Once she receives each of your submissions, she'll be in touch to schedule an interview.  She hopes to have the article published in all the major newspapers within the month!

One last thing...

Dr. Martin asked if you would be willing to help him craft a conservation plan.  He believes that the first step in any energy policy should be a comprehensive effort to reduce the amount of energy we use as a nation.  He'd like your advice regarding where conservation efforts would be most effective, and just how much energy could be saved by reducing demand in those areas.

He knows how much time you put into crafting a sensible energy plan for his campaign, but he's hoping you are up to serving your country just a short while longer.  He'll be waiting for your call...
