Process (Part 3)

Now that your individual research is complete, it's time for your team to share what each of you has learned.

You may need some help sorting through all the information you've gathered.  Click on the notebook to print a worksheet that will help you organize your research.  Once you've completed this worksheet, you will have decided which forms of energy will be featured in your plan, and what their individual strengths and weaknesses are.

All that's left is to prepare for your presentation to Dr. Martin and Mrs. Dondero.  Don't forget, Dr. Martin is a stickler for details, so you will want to include a scientifically based argument for each of your choices.

As you write the notes for your presentation, you should consider the following things:
  • Why did you choose the sources of energy you will be presenting?  A list of each of their advantages would be a good place to start in answering this question.

  • Did you choose more renewable or non-renewable energy sources?  What influenced your decision?

  • Do you plan to use specific sources of energy in specific locations around the country (for example, wind power in the midwestern states or solar in the southwestern states), or will you use them all in every location?  If you will not use them all in every location, how did you decide where to use each source?

Your poster is an important part of your presentation.  Be sure to include the following items to really impress Dr. Martin:

  • A title large enough to be seen from a distance.

  • A picture to represent each of the five energy sources you have selected.

  • Labels that can be read at a distance for each energy source you have chosen.

  • A list of the advantages for each energy source you have chosen.

  • Your rational, or reason, for choosing each energy source selected.

Once you've written your notes and completed your poster, you'll need to rehearse your presentation until it is clear and polished.  The opportunity to advise a presidential candidate is a huge honor.  It's up to you to make sure your entire team gives 100%.

Your poster is complete, your notes are prepared, and you've rehearsed your presentation.

You'll be meeting soon with Dr. Martin and Mrs. Dondero.  Good luck to you and your team!

Once you've met with them, click the light bulb to find out if the campaign decided to take your advice regarding their energy plan.
