Miss Piazza's Computer Proposal

Goals & Objectives:  With each new school year, we see technology playing a larger role in our students' education.  It is important as a school that we meet the needs  of students by integrating technology into the curriculum.  This computer proposal is intended for my fifth grade classroom of 25 students.  My new computer station was designed to enrich and enhance my students' performance in Language Arts, Math, Science, and Technology.

My ideal computer station in my classroom would have 5 Dell Precision workstation desktop computers.  These computers would be the best choice because of the limited space in the classroom.  The computers and printer would be connected to a switch using CAT5 cables.   All of the computers would be networked to the main server located in a separate room in the building. 

Language Arts:    Research information on the Internet, Writer's Workshop and Reading Adventures Programs, Type to Learn, and Research Reports

Math:  Students will use the computers to complete various SuccessMaker programs such as Math Corner, Math Concepts & Skills, and Speedo.  The teacher can use the computer to print out worksheets for math lessons

Science:  Students can utilize the Scott Foresman Science Software and the teacher can use the computers to access worksheets and create teacher made tests that correlate with the Science curriculum

Technology:  To browse the Internet for information
