Process

We have been learning a lot about different parts of fairytales in class and now it is time for you to create your own. You will be placed in a group of four students to complete the following activities which will help you create your own original Cinderella story. Disney World is counting on you to become experts and recreate a new Cinderella that kids can relate to and enjoy today! Follow the directions and enjoy entering the wonderful world of Cinderella!

1. To get started you must see how a fairytale can change just by changing some elements of the story (characters, setting, etc.). Click on the bull to read and create a "fractured fairytale." Can you guess which fairytale it is similar too?

2. Now we are ready to pick your expert roles to help you create your very own Cinderella story. It is very important for you to become experts in your specific area and share your information with the rest of your group. Here are your roles:

Character Critter	Your role as the Character Critter is to identify the characters and their personality traits with in the original Cinderella story. Your expertise in this area will help you create new characters your final project.
Setting Sultan	Your role as the Setting Sultan is to identify and describe the setting in the original Cinderella Story. Your expertise in this are will help you to create new settings for your final project.
Conflict Cat	Your role as the Conflict Cat is to identify the problem (good verse evil) in the original Cinderella story. Your expertise in this area will help you create the conflicted plot of your final project.
Resolution Reporter	Your role as the Resolution Reporter is to identify the solution to the problem in the original Cinderella story. Your expertise in this area

4. Now it is time to break up into your expert roles and complete the individual tasks. Click on your character below and complete the attached assignment.

5. Come back to your group and share the information you gathered from your individual assignment. Are you ready to start brainstorming new ideas? Good... go get started! With in your group you must discuss the characters, setting, conflict, and resolution for your new and improved Disney Cinderella story. You may create a graphic organizer online or you may use a prewriting worksheet to guide you in planning your group's new Cinderella story. 7. Now you have the plan, it's time write your own Disney Cinderella story! You each have become an expert with in your roles so you must use the information you learned to guide your group in your area of expertise. Now go and write your story and be ready to present it to the Disney executives.
