Project Proposal
By: Diana Richards
Audience: First Grade Students
Project and Explanation:
My website will be designed for my first grade class. My students are just beginning to learn how to use the computer and explore different websites. My website will provide links to educational websites for the subjects of reading, math, science, and social studies. These links will make it easier for me to direct the students to the appropriate website for our class in the computer lab. It will allow the students to practice information learned in class independently during center time.
Expectations:
I expect my website to provide an easy navigational system for first grade students to independently explore a variety of educational websites. This website will also give the students an introduction to learning the different parts of the computer and how to click and navigate through websites.
Outline:
My website will consist of the following pages:
Each page will consist of an index that will allow the student to navigate to any page on the website.
1. Home- This page will have an introduction and pictures to link to the other six subject pages.
2. Reading- This page will have picture icons that will link to educational reading websites.
3. Math- This page will have picture icons that will link to websites that provide math practice activities.
4. Science- This page will have picture icons that will link to websites that explore information that we will be learning in science.
5. Social Studies- This page will have picture icons that will link to websites that provide pictures and information on the United States, Holidays, etc.
6. Fun Sites- This page will have picture icons that will link to age appropriate websites with fun interactive games.
Colors:
I chose these colors by using the eye-drop tool to match the background picture with the colors on the template. I believe these colors are calming and comfortable for first grades students to view on my website.
