1. Now that you have been given your countries that you will represent you must assign roles to the three people in your group. The responsibilities and characterization of each role is mentioned below:

Geographer: The geographer will be asked to develop a map that draws new boundaries for the Europe following Napoleon’s defeat. The map should represent not only the geographer’s country of origin but all countries of Europe. In addition to developing the map, the geographer must provide reasons for the new boundaries. You must also complete the worksheet that goes along with your role.

Military Advisor: The military advisor must become an expert in his/her countries role in the Napoleonic Wars. He/she will be able to highlight important battles, events, and strategies concerning his/her country of origin. He/she must also be able to provide 7-10 specific grievances and demands from other countries involved in conflict. You must also complete the worksheet that goes along with your role.

Political Advisor: This advisor will know how his/her country interacted with the other countries before and during the Napoleonic Wars. The political advisor will become experts not only in his/her country’s affairs but also in the affairs of other countries. This advisor is also a representative of the country’s government. He/she must also be able to provide 7-10 specific grievances and demands from other countries involved in conflict. You must also complete the worksheet that goes along with your role.

3. Following the completion of your individual tasks, your group will come together again and begin to discuss your findings. At this point you will be asked to begin to organize your thoughts, prioritize your grievances, write your paper, and begin to develop your Power Point Presentation.

4. The groups will come together for the Congress of Vienna and will share their presentations and grievances. The debate as to how the "new" Europe will develop will then take place.
