The young and attractive Nora Sinclair is the envy of every woman and the desire of every man. She is one of the most wanted interior designers on the East coast and has a rich, attractive lawyer as her boyfriend. On the night that he proposes to her, he mysteriously dies after eating one of her home cooked meals. Although the reader can assume that she is responsible for his death, she makes all the right moves in calling the police and making all the proper funeral arrangements.
The story takes a strange turn when the reader finds that this is not the first time that Nora has had the man in her life die. After funeral plans have gone through for her former fiancˇ, we find that Nora is already married as she returns home to her husband in Boston. Once again, we find that her husband is a tall, handsome, and very wealthy man as well.
A pattern forms as the reader realizes that Nora is, in fact, drawn to wealthy men and lures them in with her attractiveness and wit. After researching and granting herself access to her lovers financial accounts she makes certain to get her cash reward after she deceivingly murders them through food poisoning.
As Nora continues to live her multiple lives, we are introduced to Agent John OÕHara who is assigned to investigate further into the death of NoraÕs former fiancˇ. He too is lured by her looks and charm, but must maintain a false identity in order to complete is job assignment. This only lasts a short time as NoraÕs suspicion and vast experience in her own secret field of expertise leads her to spy on OÕHara and uncover who he really is. Soon OÕHara finds himself not only lured into a dangerous relationship, but trapped by the gruesome fate that awaits any man that has loved Nora Sinclair.
