Goals and Objectives

Target Audience: 20 First Graders, 6-7 years old

The goal of this WebQuest is to help the children realize that it takes many, varied jobs for a city or town to work as a community. As a result of this activity, students will be able to:

· List many varied and unusual jobs that people might have.
· Identify the purpose of the work done by their parents either in the home or outside of the home.
· Become aware of and appreciate many different jobs that make a successful community.
· Involve parents in a school learning activity.
· Work cooperatively in small groups and follow directions provided in the WebQuest.
· Recall information of what they have learned and draw or write about it.
· Create a community helper through Kid Pix software program.
· Draw a picture and tell about what they might like to do when they grow up.
· Use Kids Inspiration computer program.
