Pleasantville is fiction, but for many communities in the USA, the conversion from oil and natural gas to coal is fact.   Good Job!  In researching your role as an expert and participating in a town debate, you:

• Understand how electricity is produced
• Can name air pollutants produced from the burning of fossil fuels
• Can explain the environmental effects of air pollution
• Can describe health issues that arise from air pollution
• Have an appreciation involving the complexity of the economic versus environmental conflict of interest
• Know how to conserve energy and reduce pollution
• Can explain how the burning of fossil fuels contribute to global warming
